Greetings!

            What do you write when you’re not sure what you want to write about?  (No, not something on a Ritz Cracker!  That would’ve been the Young Disciples message on July 29.)  Larry’s been after me to get some sort of short welcome article for the website.  I’ve been putting it off for want of something to write.

            How hard should it be to write a welcoming message to these communities who have been so warm, gracious & welcoming to us?  These three churches (& communities) are the very embodiment of the slogan for The United Methodist Church, “Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors.”  If you have not ventured forth to experience the hospitality of Washington County , I encourage you to do so at your earliest opportunity.  We’d love to have you visit one of our churches, of course, though in all honesty I must confess that whatever church tradition you favor you’re likely to be made to feel right at home here.

 My family & I want to thank all of you who have done so much to make us a part of this community so quickly.  As you can probably tell from my remarks above, there are a lot of you.
